Steady Improvements

So, it’s very hot. VERY hot. 105+ hot outside. We’re breaking records daily: 100+ days, now at 57, 100+days “in a row”, now at 24 or so….

So Will and I are taking a driving break until the heat cools down….hopefully that will be sometime in September.

I do have some nice circles to post, from my lesson in mid July and later on from a drive with Will. I was *reallllllly* tensing up my hands in my lesson, causing all sorts of catastrophic failures as far as circles were concerned but Francine manage to get me to relax and suddenly, my circles got really good. Here’s the series of maps and you can see, I think, the lines overlaying each circle:

After those triumphs, I manage to get a nice figure 8 out of Will on our drive the next day.

In my last lesson in July, Francine started me on the serpentine, using the entire dressage arena. This new thing was quite the challenge but as I worked on it, I could really tell how the exercise would improve my turning in the figure 8!

Here’s a series of those, though they are not as pretty as my circles…..yet!!

I’m not sure when I’ll have my next lesson but I can see steady improvements here and hope to get back to it shortly…..though I also hope we get some temps under 100 and a nice juicy tropical system sitting over Texas for weeks.

Definitely stay inside until things cool off! Those are some lovely shapes you’re making there, though.
